Wind Storm Causes Chaos
On May 19, 2024, a wind storm blew through Kansas. With winds of over 80 miles per hour, many trees were uprooted or split in half. Roofs blew off, electricity went out, and many homes were damaged. The next day, calls poured in for roll off dumpsters as people started cleaning up their houses and neighborhoods. One local from Partridge, David Yoder, had a tree branch go through the roof of his porch. His backyard was a maze of downed limbs and trees. People from his church showed up on Monday to help with the clean up.
At the landfill, long lines of vehicles waited to dispose of their tree limbs and brush. The Reno County Landfill reported that on Monday, May 20, 250 tons of brush were brought to the landfill!
We are very grateful that our employees and their families were safe through the storm. It was amazing to see how everyone rallied around their communities and helped their neighbors.
