Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre, located at 18 E 1st Ave in Hutchinson, opened on June 8, 1931. It was designed by the Boller Brothers who constructed many grand “movie palaces”, and is considered one of the finest examples of theatre art deco architecture in the Central United States.
The theatre closed in 1985 and stood empty until it was purchased by Hutchinson’s Historic Theatre, Inc in 1990. It did not open again until 1999, after undergoing a $4.5 million restoration.

The Fox has a Season Subscription Series, the Fox Film Series, and a “By the Bus” educational program. It is home to the Hutchinson Symphony, Hutchinson Theatre Guild, Phyl’s Studio of Voice, Salt Minors, ArtisTree, and Sweet Adelines.
The Fox is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. It employs three full-time staff, six part-time staff, and approximately 85 volunteers.
