February 2023 – Customer Of The Month
Tony & Rachel Flores bought Anchor Inn in 1977. Before it became the homestyle Mexican food restaurant it is known for today, it was a bar run by John Nelson. John called the bar Anchor Inn in honor of the Hutchinson Naval Air Station. Tony and some of his friends initially bought Anchor Inn from John, and Tony sold out of his share in Anchor Inn before buying it outright in 1977. Anchor Inn has expanded into two additional buildings since it was a bar.
Anchor Inn is very well-loved in Hutchinson. The food is cooked from scratch as much as possible and made with amazing family recipes. You can get anything from fajitas to enchiladas to chalupas and more! Tony’s personal favorite is tacos and refried beans.
With the capacity to serve 250 customers, Anchor Inn is a great place for family and friends to eat. All of Tony’s family members have worked there at some point. His daughter, Esther, runs Anchor Away, which is a drive-thru that serves the same food as Anchor Inn.
